Royal Mail is seeking an Area Maintenance Manager in London to lead automation and asset performance across a defined geographic area, including a Mail Centre, hubs and multiple sites. You will manage on-site Automation and Asset Technicians, ensuring reliability, safety and top service standards while driving continuous improvement.
The role requires an engineering qualification and strong technical background, plus leadership experience in a complex environment.

As a Technical Maintenance Manager, you will lead the performance of automation and assets across a defined geographic area, typically including a Mail Centre or Hub, multiple Delivery Offices, and a ParcelForce depot.
This is a hands-on leadership role, managing teams of Automation and Asset Technicians on-site, ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and high service standards to support operational performance. The role will evolve to include responsibility for EV infrastructure and Out of Home equipment.
You will play a key role in delivering efficient, cost-effective maintenance strategies while driving continuous improvement and innovation aligned with Royal Mail’s business objectives.
This role is site-based, and the successful applicant will be expected to attend Mount Pleasant Mail Centre (London Central) as their primary work location five days per week.
