Job summary

Ignis Partners is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join their established team delivering justice-sector refurbishments and compliance projects.

You will own technical delivery across RIBA Stages 3–5, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and ensure designs meet UK regulations and client requirements. Strong Revit skills and autonomy are essential. The role offers hybrid working within a boutique practice environment with a focus on high‑quality technical delivery.

The Opportunity

We are working on behalf of an established architectural practice of approximately 25 people who are looking to appoint an experienced Architectural Technologist to join their team.

The Role

You will be involved in the technical delivery of a range of justice‑sector projects, from refurbishment and compliance works through to larger‑scale improvement programmes.

You will be expected to take ownership of projects, manage technical information and coordinate with clients, consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered effectively and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Taking responsibility for the technical delivery of projects across RIBA Stages 3–5.


• Developing and coordinating detailed design and construction information.


• Producing and reviewing technical drawings, specifications and project information.


• Working across refurbishment, fire safety and compliance‑led projects.


• Coordinating with multidisciplinary consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.


• Managing technical issues and resolving design and construction challenges.


• Working within live public‑sector environments, where careful planning, compliance and communication are essential.


• Taking ownership of project packages and, where appropriate, running projects with a high level of autonomy.


• Supporting projects through construction and responding to technical queries as they arise.


• Ensuring designs and technical information meet relevant regulations, standards and client requirements.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technologist with strong technical delivery skills and a proven ability to take ownership of projects.

You Will Ideally Have

• Professional experience within an architectural practice.


• Strong experience delivering projects through RIBA Stages 3, 4 and 5.


• Excellent knowledge of technical design and construction detailing.


• Strong Revit skills.


• Experience working on refurbishment, retrofit, compliance or technically complex projects.


• The ability to coordinate projects and work confidently with consultants and contractors.


• A good understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant technical standards.


• The confidence to work autonomously and take ownership of your projects.


• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Experience within justice, public‑sector, healthcare, education, custodial or other highly regulated environments would be particularly beneficial, although relevant technical experience from other sectors will also be considered.
