Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Bristol, is currently looking to recruit an Architect Surveyor for a Permanent contract on a salary of £38,067 (Pro Rata). This role is Part-Time.
Responsibilities:
- Partnership teams are one of several specialist teams located in regional offices. They are principally responsible for the delivery of discretionary services (as opposed to statutory duties) for and with local partners in places.
- Their chief duty is to advocate for the care and conservation, and, where appropriate, creative reuse of heritage assets to improve quality of life.
- Much of their work involves projects that can last over months or years. They bring diverse skills from various professional backgrounds to find creative solutions that benefit heritage and communities through advocacy, engagement, research, grant-giving, project management, capacity building, and conservation.
- As key members of regional Partnerships teams, architects and surveyors advise partners on proposals for repair and alteration of heritage assets and provide guidance on changes in historic townscapes and landscapes. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact conservation and people's lives directly.
Minimum Requirements:
- Professional qualification in architecture or building surveying, with current ARB registration or chartered RICS membership, and accreditation in building conservation (AABC, RIBA (SCA level), or RICS) or working towards these.
- Extensive experience in building repair and project management.
- Good knowledge of English secular and ecclesiastical architecture across periods.
- Excellent understanding of building construction, repair, alteration, and adaptation methods.
- Practical and creative approach to repair problems.
- Knowledge of current construction industry regulations.
