About the role
We are seeking to recruit a Repairs Surveyor to ensure our housing repairs service is delivered effectively, contributing to neighbourhood improvement plans. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract.
This is a home-based role with occasional attendance at an office or neighbourhood sites for surveys, inspections, and customer meetings.
Customer Service
- Inspect empty properties to ensure work brings them up to lettable standards.
- Respond to customer enquiries requiring face-to-face visits.
- Encourage resident involvement and provide recommendations for organisational responses.
- Address issues with contractor performance, ensuring satisfactory resolution.
- Assist customers with home maintenance issues such as condensation and fuel poverty.
Contract Management
- Perform property defect and repair inspections, diagnosing issues accurately.
- Issue work orders to contractors, including prioritisation, cost coding, and estimating.
- Supervise ongoing work, ensuring standards are met and adopting a project management approach for major works.
- Monitor expenditure against budgets, reporting variances and taking corrective actions.
- Negotiate cost-efficient variations to work.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, equal opportunity, and statutory guidelines among colleagues, contractors, and customers. Manage contracts from specification to payment.
