Job description

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Bristol, is currently looking to recruit an Architect Surveyor for a Permanent contract on a salary of £38,067 (Pro Rata). This role is Part-Time.

Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver discretionary services for local partners, focusing on care, conservation, and creative reuse to enhance quality of life.
  2. Work within projects over months or years, bringing diverse skills from various professional backgrounds to find creative solutions that benefit heritage and communities.
  3. Advise partners on repair and alteration proposals for heritage assets, providing guidance on changes in historic townscapes and landscapes.
  4. Utilize your expertise in advocacy, engagement, research, grant-giving, project management, capacity building, and conservation.
Qualifications:
  • Professional qualification in architecture or building surveying, with current ARB registration or chartered RICS membership, and accreditation in building conservation (AABC, RIBA (SCA level), or RICS), or working towards these.
  • Extensive experience in building repair and project management.
  • Good knowledge of English secular and ecclesiastical architecture across periods.
  • Excellent understanding of building construction, repair methods, and design.
  • Practical and creative approach to repair problems.
  • Awareness of current construction industry regulations.
