Responsibilities

• Take brief from Manager and develop into a design per RIBA Plan of Work.
• Coordinate Pre-Construction Information and deliverables.
• Use robust, sustainable design solutions and ensure problem solving.
• Prepare compliant designs following UK Regulations and Standards.
• Advise on material selection and write specifications with NBS Masters.
• Participate in project reviews and coordination workshops.
• Assist with statutory submissions (Planning, Building Regulations).
• Attend meetings with Clients, Designers, Contractors and Specialists.
• Support Design Risk Registers and Document Control per company protocols.

My Shrewsbury based client is currently recruiting for an Architect - Hybrid working

My client is looking for an ambitious Architect who is keen to grow in a busy studio. You will have both design and technical skills, be fluent in problem solving and have a strong eye for detail.

You will be responsible for planning and designing buildings and land areas regarding functional and aesthetic requirements, budgets and timescales.

Salary: Competitive dependent on experience

37 hours per week (Hybrid working)

Responsibilities

• Take receipt of a brief from your Manager and with only limited intervention from them, develop it into a design in line with the RIBA Plan of Work
• Contribute to and help co-ordinate the development of Pre-Construction Information in line with the RIBA Plan of Work and specified Deliverables and DRM
• Achieve efficient and effective designs using robust and sustainable design solutions
• Prepare compliant designs by following UK Construction Law, British Standards and relevant CoPs
• Choose or advise on material selection
• Author specifications using Company's NBS Masters. Source and evidence supporting and up-to-date technical information from manufacturers
• Participate in Project Reviews and coordination workshops
• Assist in gathering and preparing information required to support statutory submissions, such as Planning, Building Regulations and Building Safety Gateways
• Negotiate with statutory bodies, write reports and complete statutory submissions (Planning Applications / Gateway submissions / Building Regulations etc)
• Attend meetings and workshops with Clients, Designers, Contractors, and other Specialists
• Support the Project Lead with the maintenance of the Design Risk Registers
• Use Document Control on your project(s) in line with Company's Protocols

Skills and experience

• ARB registered Architect
• Proven commercial and contractual awareness
• Advanced knowledge of SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other digital imaging tools
• Good knowledge of Autodesk Revit
• Routine use of Newforma Project Centre for managing email, creating, issuing and preserving record documents and sharing files
