My Shrewsbury based client is currently recruiting for an Architect - Hybrid working
My client is looking for an ambitious Architect who is keen to grow in a busy studio. You will have both design and technical skills, be fluent in problem solving and have a strong eye for detail.
You will be responsible for planning and designing buildings and land areas regarding functional and aesthetic requirements, budgets and timescales.
Salary: Competitive dependent on experience
37 hours per week (Hybrid working)

Responsibilities
- Take receipt of a brief from your Manager and with only limited intervention from them, develop it into a design in line with the RIBA Plan of Work
- Contribute to and help co-ordinate the development of Pre-Construction Information in line with the RIBA Plan of Work and specified Deliverables and DRM
- Achieve efficient and effective designs using robust and sustainable design solutions
- Prepare compliant designs by following UK Construction Law, British Standards and relevant CoPs
- Choose or advise on material selection
- Author specifications using Company's NBS Masters. Source and evidence supporting and up-to-date technical information from manufacturers
- Participate in Project Reviews and coordination workshops
- Assist in gathering and preparing information required to support statutory submissions, such as Planning, Building Regulations and Building Safety Gateways
- Negotiate with statutory bodies, write reports and complete statutory submissions (Planning Applications / Gateway submissions / Building Regulations etc)
- Attend meetings and workshops with Clients, Designers, Contractors, and other Specialists
- Support the Project Lead with the maintenance of the Design Risk Registers
- Use Document Control on your project(s) in line with Company's Protocols
Skills and experience
- ARB registered Architect
- Proven commercial and contractual awareness
- Advanced knowledge of SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other digital imaging tools
- Good knowledge of Autodesk Revit
- Routine use of Newforma Project Centre for managing email, creating, issuing and preserving record documents and sharing files
