Job summary

Bolton AMHP Hub requires a Qualified AMHP Social Worker to join our busy hub, providing assessment under the Mental Health Acts and related activity. The post involves coordination of comprehensive Mental Health Act assessments, risk assessment and care planning in line with statutory requirements.

The post operates 365 days per year including weekends and bank holidays, with a rota across the year. Full driving licence is essential and SWE registration is required or in progress.

Grade I scp 31 £43,149 to scp 35 £47,665, pro rata £21,574 to £23,832 essential car user allowance and %7 enhancement for unsocial hours. The Role

Bolton AMHP Hub requires a Qualified AMHP Social worker to join our busy hub of AMHPs working primarily to provide assessment under the Mental Health Acts and related activity. Ideally, we are looking for a dynamic, skilled and enthusiastic candidate with extensive practical experience of the Act and be fully SWE registered. The main duties include the provision of an Approved Mental Health Professional service to appropriate clients in crisis. This includes co-ordination of comprehensive Mental Health Act assessments involving professional consideration of complex health and social care needs, risk assessment and management, care and interventions in accordance with statutory requirements and Departmental policies. The Bolton AMHP Hub operates 365 days per year including weekends and Bank Holidays. The postholder needs to be available to work across the whole year on a rota basis. This post is unsuitable for hybrid working due to the nature of the role and safe working practices.

About You

The successful candidate requires extensive knowledge of the legislation and policies concerning modern mental health care, the Mental Health Act and understanding of how this is delivered together with the ability to identify the signs and symptoms of mental illness. The candidate will ideally be able to develop an understanding of local resources and take appropriate action including least restrictive alternatives to admission. Excellent communication, networking and assessment skills are required together with the ability to implement relevant legislation and manage risk. SWE registration is required. Current Approved Mental Health Practitioner status and Social Work England registration is essential.
