Job summary

Bolton Council is seeking an enthusiastic Social Worker to join Bolton’s Central North neighbourhood team, delivering person-centred support to adults and older people in the community. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to empower independence and better outcomes.

You will assess needs under Care Act, develop asset-based plans, and work within Mental Capacity Act and related legislation. DBS clearance, English fluency, and HCPC registration are required.

Qualifications

Full driving license is essential.
HCPC registration is essential.
CQSW/DIPSW/SW degree or equivalent is essential.

Responsibilities

Carry out Care Act 2014 assessments, including carers assessments.
Develop asset-based, strengths-focused support plans.
Apply Mental Capacity Act principles to practice.

Job description

Grade H/I H SCP 27 £39,481- SCP 31 £43,149 to I SCP 31 £43,149- SCP 35 £47,665 plus essential car user allowance up to £963pa
Contract: 2x 12 month Fixed Term Contract, 37 hours.
Essential Requirement: Full Driving License, Enhanced DBS. Registered with Social Work England.
Essential Qualification: CQSW/DIPSW/SW Degree or equivalent. HCPC registered.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join Bolton’s Central North neighbourhood team, supporting adults and older adults within our local community. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll work closely with a wide range of professionals to deliver a truly joinedup, personcentred approach. What You’ll Be Doing

Carrying out Care Act 2014 assessments, including carers assessments.
Developing assetbased, strengthsfocused support plans that help people connect with universal, voluntary, and community services.
Applying the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and other key legislation to everyday practice.
Working collaboratively with partners across health and social care to support positive outcomes.

Preferable Experience

Managing an active and varied caseload.
Undertaking safeguarding investigations.
Completing Continuing Health Care (CHC) assessments.
Taking part in multiagency meetings.
Working within a multidisciplinary team.

About You

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for Social Work practice and has experience of working with adults in a community setting. You will have the ability to develop, maintain and improve relationships with service users and carers as well as the attributes required to participate in inter-disciplinary team working.

The posts are subject to enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service and registration with Social Work England.

We welcome applications from Student Social Workers who are in their final placement and are due to qualify in the next 6 months.
