Job summary

EMCOR UK is seeking a qualified electrician to ensure that electrical installations are delivered to current regulations and to the complete satisfaction of customers.

You will work as part of a team, ensuring installations meet regulations and can operate under RAMS and safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Qualified electricians with current regs knowledge.
  • Experience in commercial electrical installations.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical installation work to current regulations and with minimal supervision.
  • Set out jobs from drawings and specifications, requisition installation materials.
  • Supervise other operatives when required and ensure on-time completion.
  • Install and modify electrical components and systems (1st/2nd fix, power & lighting) including commissioning.
  • Coordinate with administration on order changes and material collection.
  • Perform testing and inspection to enable certification.
  • Support Project Manager with estimates and quotations.
  • Follow RAMS and safety rules; adhere to Quality Management System.

Location: Mobile - Hampshire

Salary: Up to £45,000 + Overtime & Paid Travel Time (OTE £55,000) + Company Van

Working hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

Contract Type: Permanent

Role Overview

You will be ensuring that the delivery of electrical aspects are delivered in an effective, efficient and professional manner to the complete satisfaction of all of our customers. Ensuring the installations are to current regulations and able to work as a team member.

What You'll Do
  • Approved Electricians must possess particular practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with adequate technical supervisory knowledge so as to be able to work on their own proficiently and carry out electrical installation work without immediate supervision in the most efficient and economical manner.
  • Be able to set out jobs from drawings and specifications and requisition the necessary installation materials.
  • Be able to accept responsibility for the proper completion of jobs and, if required, supervise other operatives.
  • Install and modify electrical components and systems to include 1st fix containment, 2nd fix installations, power & lighting including commissioning.
  • Keep administration teams updated on any change of order when collecting materials from wholesalers.
  • Carry out all testing and inspection to enable completion of certification.
  • Assist the Project Manager/Supervisor with the required information to enable the compilation of estimates/quotations as required.
  • Conform to safety rules and apply good engineering and safety practices.
  • Be comfortable installing tray, ladder, conduits etc. as per construction drawings.
  • Be willing to undertake company standard internal training workshops and complete all mandatory training.
  • Provide information on progress of the project as per Project Programme & follow RAMS.
  • Adhere to the Quality Management System applied to all M&E systems.
About The Role
Who you'll be
  • Qualified to City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent NVQ & C&G 2382 - 10 18th Edition, minimum requirements.
  • C&G 2391-10 Inspection & Testing.
  • C&G 2391-20 Design & Verification preferred but not required.
  • Experience of commercial electrical installations.
  • Experience of installation of LV distribution systems.
  • First Aid, IPAF and PASMA training will be provided if required but advantageous if already certified.
  • Preferably to hold SMSTS, SSSTS or IOSH.
  • UK travel may be required and must hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Health, Safety and Wellbeing – required to work at height & under CDM regs.
  • Required to wear corporate PPE.
