Approved Electrician – Hazardous Environments

Location: Peterborough, Cambridge, Bedford UK (flexible in this region)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 base, plus great overtime, van, tools, medicash, and career opportunities

Our client is a business dedicated to helping customers understand and manage environmental risks. Due to their continued growth, they are seeking an electrician to join their UK-wide team, focusing on inspections and testing for customers in the Energy division, particularly at Petrol Filling Stations across the UK.

If you are experienced in electrical inspections, testing, and compliance, we want to hear from you!

The post holder will work independently in hazardous areas to inspect, test, and install systems correctly, liaising with customers and internal teams to provide solutions and improve services. You will ensure client sites pass annual audits and comply with UK legislation.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Inspect, test, and install electrical systems at petrol filling stations across the UK.
2. Communicate with on-site customers about ongoing work and additional services.
3. Coordinate with colleagues, including engineers, management, and support staff, regarding project progress and opportunities.
4. Complete documentation such as test certifications and RAMS to ensure compliance and health and safety standards.
5. Work independently while maintaining teamwork through regular interactions.
6. Represent the company professionally to clients and the public, upholding high standards.
7. Travel to sites, including overnight stays, as required.

About you:

• Required qualifications: C&G 2391 or equivalent, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, 18th Edition Certification.
• JIB Gold Card/ECS Gold Card.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Experience with RAMS documentation.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Desire to grow with a company that values development, innovation, and compliance.
• Right to work in the UK.

Desirable: CompEx Modules 14 and 7-8. Training can be provided if not held.
