Job summary

Pac Electrical in Derby seeks an experienced electrician to cover commercial contracting, maintenance, and solar/EV charging projects. You’ll work across a varied portfolio, including three-phase installations and domestic solar with the roofing team, testing and certifying to BS 7671, and ensuring tidy handover to project managers.

The role requires NVQ3 in Electrical Installation, AM2, 18th Edition, ECS Gold Card, and a full UK driving licence, with preferred experience in larger domestic or

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent and AM2.
• 18th Edition (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022) is required.
• ECS Gold card is required.
• A full UK driving licence is required.
• Experience on commercial or larger domestic installations; testing/inspection experience is a strong advantage, including solar, battery, EV knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Work across commercial electrical contracting, maintenance, and installations including EV charging and solar.
• Test and certify your own work to BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 and leave tidy sites.
• Collaborate with project managers and office staff to deliver projects.

Job description

The role

You'll work across our full range: commercial electrical contracting, planned maintenance for commercial clients, consumer unit upgrades, EICRs and testing, fault finding and repair, three-phase installations, and the electrical side of solar PV, battery storage and EV charging. Some weeks are on a commercial fit-out, some are domestic solar with the roofing team, some are EV chargers. The variety is the point.

You'll test and certify your own work to BS 7671:2018+A2:2022, leave a tidy site, and work with our project managers and the office rather than around them.

What you'll need

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) and AM2
• 18th Edition (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022)
• ECS Gold card
• A full UK driving licence
• Experience on commercial or larger domestic installations
• Inspection and testing (2391 or equivalent) is a strong advantage, as is solar, battery or EV experience. We train for all three.
