Proper Solar is expanding its West Midlands team to service Birmingham, the Black Country, Coventry and Staffordshire. You will install domestic EV chargers with neat finishes, perform commercial installs, and service existing chargers across a growing regional footprint.

Role includes testing and commissioning, uploading evidence, and explaining results to customers in clear terms. Training is offered to add solar, battery, and testing qualifications, with progression into supervisory roles.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 electrical qualification.
• 18th Edition (BS 7671) required.
• EV charging installation qualification (Level 3) required.
• Experience on domestic installs is essential.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Ability to work confidently alone and interact with customers.

Responsabilités

• Install domestic EV chargers to a high standard with tidy cable runs and clean finishes.
• Carry out commercial EV installs at workplaces, depots and destination sites.
• Service, maintain and fault-find on chargers in the field.
• Install solar PV and battery systems as you build experience.
• Test, commission and certify on each job.
• Upload photo evidence and job completion paperwork via installer portal.
• Explain the finished install to customers clearly, without jargon.
• Keep sites tidy and leave them in better condition than found.

We're building our West Midlands team to keep up with demand around Birmingham, the Black Country, Coventry and Staffordshire. Dense urban patches mean shorter drives and more installs per day.

The role

• Installing domestic EV chargers to a high standard, with tidy cable runs and clean finishes
• Commercial EV installs at workplaces, depots and destination sites
• Servicing, maintenance and fault-finding visits on chargers already in the field
• Solar PV and battery installs as you build experience and qualifications
• Testing, commissioning and completing certification on every job
• Uploading photo evidence and completion paperwork through our installer job portal
• Explaining the finished install to customers clearly, without jargon
• Leaving every site tidier than you found it

What you'll need

• Level 3 electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 / AM2 or equivalent)
• 18th Edition (BS 7671)
• EV charging installation qualification (Level 3)
• Experience on domestic installs
• Full UK driving licence
• Confident working alone and dealing directly with customers

Nice to have

• Level 3 Inspection & Testing (2391 or equivalent)
• Solar PV and battery storage qualifications
• Commercial or three-phase EV experience
• Experience with smart charger commissioning apps and OCPP back offices
