Job summary

NVQ Assessor is seeking experienced Assessors and IQAs to deliver apprenticeship standards across multiple employer sites. The role is field-based and requires regular travel to learner sites for one-to-one and group delivery.

Duties include monthly visits to a caseload of 40/46, coaching apprentices through work-based quals and Maths/English/ICT Functional Skills, and completing assessment documentation. DBS checked on appointment; driving licence essential.

Qualifications

• Assessor qualifications such as A1, D32/33 or CAVA (desirable – Level 4 Award in Internal QA of Assessment)
• Full driving licence and use of own car
• DBS checked upon appointment
• Good educational standard including English and Maths or equivalents

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly one-to-one visits with apprentices within a caseload of 40/46
• Coach apprentices through work-based qualifications and Functional Skills
• Deliver stand up training activities and complete all ESFA assessment documentation
• Check and maintain apprentice progress reports and OneFile data
• Develop relationships with apprentices, mentors and employers
• Identify new apprenticeship opportunities and log them
• Prepare for and participate in progress monitoring meetings and QA standardisation sessions
• Carry out Internal Quality Assurer observations and activities as required

Seeking highly occupationally competent Assessors and IQA’s to deliver the following apprenticeship standards:

• Business Administrator


• Team Leader/ Supervisor


• Operations/ Departmental Manager


• Hospitality Team Member/ Supervisor


• Supply Chain Warehouse Operative

The position is field based and will require travel to a variety of employer sites to deliver both one-to-one and group delivery.

Duties

• Conducting monthly one-to-one visits with all apprentices within a caseload of 40/46


• Coaching and guiding apprentices through work-based qualifications


• Coaching and guiding apprentices through Maths, English and ICT Functional Skills at Levels 1 & 2 as required


• Delivering stand up training activities where required


• Completing all Education Skills Funding Agency assessment documentation as required


• Checking and ensuring apprentice information on the progress reports and OneFile is accurate


• Developing and maintaining working relationships with apprentices, mentors and employers


• Generating and identifying new/progression apprenticeship opportunities


• Presenting to, signing up and logging on apprentices when new/progression opportunities are identified


• Preparing for and participating in one-to-one progress monitoring meetings


• Participating in Team Meetings and Operational Meetings


• Participating in and delivering Internal Quality Assurer Standardisation sessions where required


• Participating in Interim and Final Internal Quality Assurer activities as required


• Carrying out Internal Quality Assurer observations as required


• Maintaining industry qualifications and occupational competence as required


• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Assessor qualified, A1, CAVA, or D32, D33, (desired – Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment)


• Occupational competence


• A good standard of general education e.g. 5 GCSE (or equivalent) including English and Maths or/and Functional Skills at Level 2 in English, Maths and ICT


• Full Drivers Licence and use of own car


• DBS checked upon appointment


• Excellent communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively.

PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE

To be an Assessor you would need to hold either an; A1/2, D32/33, or CAVA which we have a link to HERE . Similarly so, to be a FE practitioner, in other words, a Trainer, you should hold at a minimum the AET (Level 3 Award in Education and Training). The position does not ask for these so do not feel deterred to apply if you do not possess them. However, it is in our professional opinion you need to have either qualification before applying.
