Where will you be working?

As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.

This role is in our Plant & Fleet department, our Plant & Fleet supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs, offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.

You will be working alongside qualified and highly experienced members of staff, many of whom would have started their careers as an Apprentice just like you. You will have a dedicated mentor assigned who will help you maximize your potential by sharing your knowledge.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain recognised and accredited qualifications whilst you earn and gain a vast amount of experience within a highly respected company.

At the end of the 36 month programme, you will gain a Level 3 Land Based Service apprenticeship as well as all the necessary experience and skills needed to excel within your role.

What will you be doing?

Join our team and play a vital role in keeping our fleet of plant vehicles and equipment in top condition. Your day-to-day will involve carrying out routine maintenance and essential service repairs, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

You'll use your skills to diagnose and fix a variety of mechanical and electrical issues, tackling both minor and major repair jobs as needed. Keeping records up to date is important, and you'll do this using a PDA device to make sure everything is accurately logged.

Collaboration is key, so you'll be working closely with the workshop team to keep communication flowing and tasks on track. And, of course, safety is our priority—you’ll follow all M Group's Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and responsible work environment for everyone.

What you’ll bring

  • 4 GCSE’s at 4-9 (GCSE C-A) in Maths, English, Science plus another subject.
  • Full UK Driver’s license
  • Flexibility in working patterns and MUST be able to work away from home.
  • Passionate about the automotive industry
  • You possess a high degree of manual dexterity and an interest in working with machinery
  • Keen to learn with an interest in development and progression
