Job summary

Ridgewood School in Doncaster is offering a Property Maintenance Operative (Level 2) apprenticeship. You will participate in a rolling maintenance programme across security, heating and lighting, cleaning and repairs as part of the school’s Site Team.

Qualifications

• Analytical thinking and problem solving relevant to site maintenance.
• Ability to work methodically and follow health & safety guidelines.
• Good communication and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and be on feet during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Secure and manage school site access and related security duties.
• Operate and monitor heating, lighting and water systems; assist with routine maintenance.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs, e.g. painting, plumbing, cleaners, minor fixes.
• Support with portering tasks such as moving equipment and setting up for exams.
• Promote health, safety and welfare and follow site policies and guidelines.
• Travel to Doncaster College for apprenticeship training and completion of modules.
