Powys County Council is offering an exciting ICT Apprentice opportunity in the End User Services team. As an Apprentice Service Desk Operator, you will be office based and serve as a first point of contact for internal ICT users across Powys.

The programme combines hands-on support with study towards a Level 3 ICT qualification over two years, with mentoring from experienced professionals and potential progression to a permanent role on full pay.

Job description

We have an exciting Apprentice opportunity within our ICT Department, working as part of the End User Services team. As an Apprentice Service Desk Operator, you will be office based and become one of the first points of contact for internal ICT service users across Powys County Council, helping colleagues access the technology and support they need to deliver services across the county. ICT plays a vital role in keeping the council running, and this apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy, supportive and forward-thinking environment. We are looking for bright, ambitious and enthusiastic individuals who are keen to learn, enjoy solving problems and want to make a positive difference through technology. You will need good communication skills, a strong academic track record and a genuine interest in information and communication technologies. You do not need to have all the answers on day one - we are looking for people with the right attitude, curiosity and commitment to develop.

Please note if you already hold a degree, HNC/HND in IT or level 5/6-degree equivalent qualification you may not meet the eligibility criteria for funding through the career Graded Apprenticeship Scheme.
