Newcastle Academy invites applications for an Apprentice Learning Support Practitioner to join our SEND team. The role involves supporting pupils with learning needs within the classroom under supervision, and contributing to individual development plans.

This 16-month apprenticeship, delivered through LMP Education, runs 37 hours per week (08:30-15:30) with wage starting at £8.00 per hour and a potential rise to National Minimum Wage after 12 months for over-19s.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at level or equivalent.
• Apprenticeship pathway in SEN with guidance from training provider.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals or small groups under supervision.
• Assist pupils with SEN and those whose first language is not English.
• Deliver planned activities and adjust for pupil responses.
• Support behaviour management and reinforce academy policies.
• Assist with eating, dressing and hygiene as needed.
• Maintain pupil engagement and help with core skills development.
• Contribute to individual development plans.
