Job summary

Princes Primary School in Liverpool is offering a SEND-focused Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship. You will work on a 16-month Level 3 apprenticeship while supporting learning activities across the national curriculum.

The role requires experience with SEND children and the ability to work within a team of educators. Start date is 26 June 2026; 3 positions available, hours are 34 per week at £8 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience and keen interest in working with SEND children.
• Aiming to complete level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.
• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for learning activities across the national curriculum and report pupil progress.
• Assist with the timely preparation of resources, activities and the teaching environment, ensuring pupil safety.
• Maintain displays and organize materials, ensuring they are safe and tidy.
• Assist in the development of Individual Education Plans and EHCP progress feedback.
• Support in implementing and reviewing programmes of work and inform teacher of concerns.
• Apply agreed behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour.
• Support therapists and pupils before, during, and after therapy sessions as required.
• Offer pupils diverse play experiences to encourage risk-taking and personal growth.
• Assist in promoting inclusive participation and supporting emotional wellbeing.
