Job summary

Griffiths in North Wales is seeking an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The role focuses on supporting the commercial team on construction projects while gaining structured training and hands-on experience.

You will assist with financial reports, procurement administration, and cost reporting, while developing skills through the ADS training plan and regular development reviews.

Responsibilities

• Promote and adhere to Griffiths' Health & Safety policies and reporting requirements.
• Support project teams in identifying actions to improve project profit and gross site margin.
• Assist with production, maintenance and submission of financial and commercial reports.
• Support supplier and subcontractor procurement activities and related administration.
• Participate in Health & Safety initiatives and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Assist with applications for payment, monitoring certificates and cash receipts; provide updates.
• Assist cost reporting, cost forecasting and monitoring of project commercial performance.
• Contribute to change management processes including notices and assessments.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Attend project meetings; take notes on commercial matters and foster client/stakeholder relationships.
• Assist with subcontract management activities and payment processes; support tendering and pricing.
• Prepare and present commercial analysis and reporting information for management teams.
• Complete the Griffiths Approved Development Scheme (ADS) Training Plan and participate in annual reviews.
• Keep up to date with construction industry developments and best practice.

What you’ll be doing:

As an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial team in delivering successful construction projects while developing your knowledge and skills through structured training and practical experience. Your responsibilities will include:

• Participating in project Health & Safety initiatives and contributing to a positive safety culture.
• Supporting the submission of applications for payment, monitoring certificates and cash receipts, and providing status updates as required.
• Assisting with periodic cost reporting, cost forecasting and project commercial performance monitoring.
• Contributing to change management processes, including the preparation of notices and assessments where required.
• Supporting accurate project record keeping and maintaining project documentation.
• Attending project meetings, taking notes on commercial matters and maintaining positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Assisting with subcontract management activities, including administration and payment processes.
• Supporting tendering and pricing activities when required.
• Preparing and presenting commercial analysis and reporting information for management teams.
• Completing the Griffiths Approved Development Scheme (ADS) Training Plan and actively participating in annual development reviews.
• Keeping up to date with construction industry developments and best practice.
• Carrying out any other duties appropriate to the role and level of responsibility.
