Job summary

VolkerWessels is seeking an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to support site surveying duties 4 days a week while studying for a Quantity Surveying apprenticeship. The role involves assisting the surveying team, maintaining clear communication, and upholding VolkerFitzpatrick's commercial interests on projects.

Applicants should display a passion for construction, hold a driving licence, and be willing to lodge away from home when required.

Qualifications

• A passion for construction.
• Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
• Willing to lodge away from home during the working week due to project location.
• Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship - Chartered Surveyor BSc (Hons).
• A Level BBB or BTEC National Diploma DDM or Access to HE qualifications with 24 Distinctions 21 Merits or Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 128 UCAS points.
• Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent.
• At least 112 UCAS Tariff points.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of roles and responsibilities within VolkerFitzpatrick's commercial interests.
• Help maximise staff morale.
• Communicate effectively between staff.
• Attend regular internal meetings and close out actions quickly.

Job description

Reporting to the Quantity Surveyor/Project Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, the Apprentice Quantity Surveyor is required to assist the Quantity Surveyor, Project Surveyor or Senior Surveyor in their duties. The Apprentice QS will attend site 4 days a week and study 1 day a week for an apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying.

• Assist the surveying team as required.
• Ensure you are aware of your roles and responsibilities with particular reference to VolkerFitzpatrick's commercial interests.
• Help to maximise staff morale.
• Ensure you effectively and appropriately communicate between members of staff where required.
• Attend regular internal meetings held and ensure your actions are closed out quickly.

• A passion for construction
• Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
• Must be willing to lodge away from home during the working week, where required, due to project location.
• Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship - Chartered Surveyor BSc (Hons)
• A Level BBB or;
