Job summary

Gilbert & Armstrong LTD t/a The Pharmacy in Sheffield is offering an apprentice Pharmacy Assistant position within a small team of qualified professionals. For the right person there is potential to secure full-time employment and progress to a Pharmacy Technician Level 3 apprenticeship.

You will learn dispensing of medications, over-the-counter sales, stock rotation, data entry and liaising with doctors and health professionals.

Qualifications

• Essential GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above.
• Urdu or Punjabi language ability is beneficial for customer communication.
• Ability to work in a small team and learn on the job.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications to patients with accuracy.
• Over-the-counter sales of non-prescription medicines.
• Check and monitor prescription slips.
• Health & safety responsibility.
• Rotation of stock and inventory control.
• Use of patient record systems and smart cards.
• Data entry relating to medication.
