Job summary

HS2 Ltd. is offering a Materials Technician Apprentice - Level 3 role in the Midlands. The successful candidate will perform testing on aggregates, concrete and asphalt, ensure compliance with quality management standards, maintain lab equipment, and communicate with senior staff to keep information flowing.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Flexible working options and benefits are available as part of a diverse team supporting major infrastructure projects across HS2.

Qualifications

• Undertaking testing on materials including aggregates, concrete and asphalt in accordance with required standards.
• Complying with the high standards of works required by the Quality Management Systems within important deadlines.
• Maintaining equipment to an excellent standard as required by the Laboratory Manager.
• Proactively communicate with senior staff to ensure effective communication and flow of information.
• Attending training courses and assessments as required.
• Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Forms and SharePoint.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Adaptable to work in a fast pace environment.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.

HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
