Darrington, home to the Hungry Horse pub, offers an apprenticeship as Apprentice Kitchen Team Leader to develop leadership and culinary skills within a busy kitchen environment.

As an Apprentice Kitchen Team Leader with Hungry Horse, your motivational skills and passion for customer care make you the perfect person to lead our front of house teams. You'll ensure that each team member knows their stuff and can wow customers with a 5* experience. And it doesn't stop with food and drink! As an Apprentice Kitchen Team Leader, you will...

Prepare, cook, and present food to brand standards, ensuring every dish is served with pride.
Support and guide the kitchen team, helping to organise service and maintain high performance during busy shifts.
Deputise for the Kitchen Manager or senior chefs when required, helping to resolve issues and keep service running smoothly.
Ensure all food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
Monitor stock levels, food preparation, and kitchen organisation to ensure efficient service.

What your apprenticeship includes:

You won't need to attend college, our apprenticeships are delivered through work-based training which includes a mixture of face-to-face sessions and remote Team calls with your Lifetime Learner Coach every 6 weeks. You will also have a mentor within the workplace to support you.
Obtain Functional Skills in English and maths, with support tailored to your needs (if you don't already have GCSE or equivalents).
Reviews every 12 weeks with the Apprentice, Line Manager and Lifetime Learner Coach including feedback sessions.
