Job summary

KEITS is offering an apprenticeship at a busy Northampton golf centre, with full training provided and the learner working on a 18-hole course plus a 9-hole short course. The role involves daily maintenance, mowing, and course setup, with opportunities to learn drainage, construction and general turf care.

The programme targets practical skill development with a dedicated training consultant, a Level 2 Sports Turf or Golf Green Keeping Business Administration Apprenticeship, and End Point

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths are essential.
• Driving licence is essential, as there is no public transport nearby.
• Full training will be provided by the employer and KEITS for the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Daily course maintenance & setup.
• Using and maintaining pedestrian and ride-on course maintenance machinery.
• Mowing and course set up.
• Changing holes and moving tee markers.
• Bunker preparation and drainage work on the golf course.
• Tree and woodland maintenance.

Job description

Just two miles from Northampton town centre this family owned course, built in 1995, is the county’s busiest golf centre and has built up a strong membership as well as being very popular with the casual and regular visiting golfer. Overlooking the Northampton Skyline the 18 hole course is open to everyone and provides a challenge for golfers of all abilities, with a mix of long and short holes.Brampton Heath is a 27 hole venue with a 9 hole short course perfect for beginners, family golf and footgolf. An 18 bay driving range allows you the chance to practice your swing, with clubs available to use free of charge.The clubhouse has recently seen a big investment and offer a selection of drinks and home cooked meals and snacks.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at our company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside our experienced staff. Estimates start date is 1st November 2026.

Training:

• Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
• The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Sports Turf or Golf Green Keeping Business Administration Apprenticeship
• The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
• The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
