Job summary

VolkerHighways is seeking apprentices to join project teams across the south of the UK for a Level 2 Highways Electrical Apprenticeship. This full-time role combines practical site work with college training, including paid learning time.

No previous electrical experience is required as full training and support are provided. The position offers hands-on experience with street lighting installations, fault diagnosis, and safe working practices, with a view to securing a formal Level 2

Qualifications

• No previous electrical experience required; full training and support will be provided.
• On-the-job learning with formal training towards Level 2 apprenticeship.
• Attendance at college blocks of at least a week, with overnight accommodation provided.

Responsibilities

• Fault diagnosis and repairs
• Electrical testing and commissioning on new and existing installations
• Installation of street lighting columns, signs and bollards
• Learning to carry out work safely and to required standards
• Using tools, plant and equipment safely with training and authorisation
• Attending training blocks and applying learning on site
• Following health, safety, environmental and wellbeing procedures
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe work environment
• Reporting hazards, near misses and unsafe conditions
• Representing VolkerHighways professionally
