Job summary

Net Zero Careers Accelerator offers an electrical apprenticeship working alongside experienced electricians on domestic and commercial installations. You will gain practical skills in solar PV and heat pump projects while attending college one day per week.

This role focuses on developing practical electrical abilities through hands-on training in a growing renewable energy sector, with a Living Wage Employer environment and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in becoming a qualified electrician.
• Willingness to learn and develop practical skills.
• Some GCSEs or equivalent.
• Any relevant electrical or technical qualification.
• Interest in renewable energy, solar PV or heat pump technology.
• Reliable and punctual approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced electricians on domestic and/or commercial installations.
• Assist with solar PV installation work.
• Support electrical work on heat pump installations.
• Assist with general electrical installation, maintenance and repair activities.
• Prepare tools, materials and equipment for work.
• Follow health and safety procedures and safe working practices.

You will work alongside experienced electricians and gain practical experience across solar PV installations, heat pump systems and general electrical work, while completing your apprenticeship training at a local college. The role offers the opportunity to develop practical electrical skills while building a career in the growing renewable energy and low-carbon sector.,

• Work alongside experienced electricians on domestic and/or commercial electrical installations.

• Support electrical work associated with heat pump installations.

• Follow instructions from experienced electricians and supervisors.
• Learn to use electrical tools and equipment safely.
• Maintain clean and organised work areas.
• Follow health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Attend college one day per week as part of the apprenticeship.
• Develop practical and technical electrical skills through on-the-job training.
