Reports To: Nursery Manager

Annual Leave: 20 days plus bank holidays

Our nurseries are currently open from 7:30am-6pm, with shift patterns starting from 7:20am to 6:20pm. We aim to accommodate 4-day weeks where possible. Your shifts may vary weekly unless flexible working arrangements are made. Some evening and weekend work will be required, paid back as TOIL, with arrangements communicated in advance.

As an Apprentice Early Years Educator, you will support your team in delivering high-quality care and education, including facilitating learning, meeting children's individual needs, and maintaining high standards. You will train towards your ICQ Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Learning and Development through the Cherubs Nurseries Academy, involving coursework, practical assessments, and meetings with your assessor.

Description of Duties

1. Deliver: Provide excellent service for children and families, ensure a safe, secure, and clean environment, adhere to safeguarding policies, be a role model, maintain toys and equipment, supervise meal times, give parent handovers, and comply with nursery policies.
2. Take Ownership: Complete paperwork accurately and on time, document progress for key children, keep the nursery well-presented and resources organized.
3. Commit: Present professionally, maintain confidentiality, work towards your qualification, attend training, and complete relevant PLA training within 7 days.
4. Embrace: Plan and deliver indoor and outdoor activities to support development and interests.
5. Build: Work under guidance from managers and senior educators, share information timely, build relationships with parents and staff, attend events, and undertake other duties as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

• GCSE Level Pass (4 or above) in English and Maths, or complete these via Functional Skills as part of your qualification.
• Experience caring for children, such as babysitting, is desirable.
