Job summary

Citywide Services, Salford City Council's catering service, is offering an Apprentice Assistant Cook role. You will work under the Cook Supervisor, handling meal prep, simple cooking, serving and related duties.

The position runs 20 hours per week, term time only, for a fixed term of about two years with supportive progression opportunities. Full training will be provided, including a Level 2 Production Chef apprenticeship, a hygiene certificate and maths/English qualifications where applicable.

Qualifications

• Full training provided for the role.
• You will undertake a Level 2 Production Chef apprenticeship.
• Hygiene certificate and Level 2 in maths and English (unless exempt).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform simple cooking and serving of meals.
• Carry out general duties such as cleaning, washing up and storage.
