Job summary

Citywide Services is recruiting an Apprentice Assistant Cook for Salford City Council. The role covers 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:45am–1:15pm, term time only, with a fixed term of about 2 years to complete Chef Production Standards.

You will train via a Level 2 Production Chef apprenticeship, gain a hygiene certificate and Level 2 in maths and English (unless exempt). DBS checks apply and progression to a permanent post is possible after completing the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Training will be provided through the Level 2 Production Chef apprenticeship.
• Support and supervision by Cook Supervisor and tutor during learning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals to service requirements.
• Serve meals and assist with general kitchen duties.
• Clean, wash up and store equipment and food items.
