Job summary

Sodexo at Sevenoaks School is seeking an Apprentice Commis Chef to start a culinary career with hands-on kitchen experience while working toward a Level 2 Commis Chef qualification.

You will learn cooking techniques, assist in meal preparation for pupils, staff and visitors, and benefit from a supportive team, full uniform, and meals on duty during shifts.

Qualifications

• Passion for food and cooking and desire to start a culinary career.
• Willingness to learn and develop practical kitchen skills.
• Interest in achieving a Level 2 Commis Chef qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high quality meals.
• Learn a range of cooking techniques and kitchen skills from experienced chefs.
• Support food preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and hospitality events.
• Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.
• Assist with stock rotation, storage, and delivery checks.
• Help ensure all dietary requirements and allergen procedures are followed.
• Work collaboratively as part of a busy and professional kitchen team.
• Participate fully in apprenticeship training, assessments, and reviews.
