Job summary

Compass Group UK is seeking an Apprentice Chef in Grantham to join our team on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week with rotating shifts. You will gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced chefs, and progress through the L2 Commis Chef qualification.

You must be 18+ and willing to undergo a DBS check. Upon completion, you will become a qualified Commis Chef and start a rewarding career in hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food promptly according to recipes and standards.

• Maintain clean, organised, and sanitized workstations and equipment.
• Monitor food temperatures and storage to ensure safety.
• Follow all food safety regulations and company procedures.

We’re currently recruiting for an ambitious Apprentice Chefto join our team and help deliver exceptional experiences at Grantham on a full‑time basis contracted to 35 hours per week.

As an apprentice Commis Chefyou will work alongside a passionate and supportive team, gaining hands‑on experience while developing your skills through structured training. On completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve the L2 Commis Chef qualification and become a qualified Commis Chef.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

• Preparing food promptly and to recipe specifications.
• Completing opening, closing and additional duties as instructed.
• Keeping workstations and cooking equipment clean, organised and sanitised.
• Maintaining correct food temperatures and storage procedures.
• Following all food safety standards and regulations.
