Job summary

Hoare Lea in Oxford invites applicants for a structured apprenticeship in building services engineering. You’ll rotate through healthcare, retail, hotels and residential sectors, producing designs, drawings and system documentation with hands-on exposure and modern modelling tools.

You’ll receive mentoring, study leave for a BSc/BEng in Building Services Engineering, and a clear path to Incorporated Engineer status. Duration about five years, with flexible learning support.

Qualifications

• University entry requirements for engineering apprenticeship across STEM subjects.
• Merit or higher in Mathematics/General science or related subjects depending on route.
• Willingness to learn and pursue Chartered Engineer status via mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Explore all aspects of the work to discover what suits you.
• Produce detailed designs and drawings for projects.
• Use computer modelling software to support design work.
• Attend meetings with project teams, clients and end users.
• Prepare engineering system designs and write specifications.
• Monitor progress on construction sites and contribute to project delivery.
