Job summary

Hoare Lea in Cambridge is seeking a Building Services Design Engineer - Degree Apprentice. You will join one of the UK’s largest building engineering consultancies and work on live projects from day one across healthcare, hotels, retail, and residential sectors.

You will study towards a BEng/BSc Building Services Engineering with in-house mentoring, a Career Paths framework, and opportunities toward Chartered status as you progress.

Qualifications

• University entry requirements: A levels or equivalent as listed in the ad.
• T-Level at Merit or above in Construction: Design, Surveying and Planning; or similar.
• BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (Engineering) with Merits in Maths/Further Maths; or
• BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (Engineering) with Merits in Maths/Further Maths; or
• Level 3/Level 4 Building Services Design Technician Apprenticeship; or a trades background transitioning to office work.

Responsibilities

• Participate in day-to-day tasks across live projects across healthcare, hotels, retail, and residential sectors.
• Produce detailed designs and drawings using modelling software.
• Undertake site surveys and assist in writing specifications.
• Engage in regular team meetings with project teams, clients, or end users.
• Assist with design and project management activities as part of the apprenticeship.
