Job summary

Evans Halshaw is offering an Apprentice Autocare Technician position through GTG Training. You will work full-time in a garage workshop while training, earning the National Apprenticeship Minimum Wage and gaining hands-on experience.

The apprenticeship covers vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, and diagnostics, with training delivered by GTG Wolverhampton and supported by dedicated mentors at the workplace. A GCSE in Maths/English and a proactive attitude are required.

Qualifications

• GCSE Level 4/C or above in Maths, English.

Responsibilities

• Based in the garage workshop and learn all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including servicing, MOT prep, removal and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.
• Train through GTG Wolverhampton with block release training weeks.
• Regular assessments and mentor reviews throughout the apprenticeship.

About The Apprenticeship

The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and earn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment.

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace with dedicated mentors from GTG and the apprentice's workplace, which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

You will train through GTG Wolverhampton, by attending block release training weeks.

What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like?

You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.

Examples of the units covered are:

• Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
• Inspection of light vehicles
• Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components
• Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines and component faults
• Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Contributing to workplace good housekeeping

What qualifications are required?

GCSE Level 4/C or above in Maths, English
