Job summary

GTG Training Limited is recruiting for an Apprentice Autocare Technician on behalf of Retail Renault Group. The role is based in Middlesbrough and involves a 40-hour week with a Monday‑Friday pattern; a Saturday worked offers a midweek day off.

Training is through GTG Wolverhampton with block release weeks. You will learn essential vehicle repair skills, diagnostics and servicing while completing regular mentor‑led assessments.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at level 4 or above.
• Candidate must be willing to learn in a hands‑on environment.
• Full UK driving licence not essential but preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance in the garage workshop.
• Assist with servicing, MOT preparation and component work.
• Attend block release training weeks through GTG Wolverhampton.
• Undergo regular assessments with mentors to complete the apprenticeship.

The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time andearn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment.

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace with dedicated mentors from GTG and the apprentice's workplace, which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

Youwill train through GTGWolverhampton, by attending block release training weeks.

What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like?

You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.

Examples of the units covered are:

• Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
• Inspection of light vehicles
• Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components
• Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines andcomponentfaults
• Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Contributing to workplace good housekeeping

What qualifications arerequired?

GCSE Level 4/C or above in Maths, English

What personal qualities arerequired?
