Job summary

Expedia Group is offering a Global Summer Internship Program as an Applied Science Intern in London. You will work with machine learning models, collaborate with data scientists and engineers, and contribute to real business priorities through structured onboarding and mentorship.

Successful interns gain exposure to leadership, participate in dedicated Learning Series, and have potential for a full‑time offer after graduation. Relocation support may be provided where eligible under the program.

Qualifications

• Must be available to commit to program dates: 21 June – 27 August 2027.
• Must be graduating with a Master’s degree in a technical subject between December 2027 and July 2028.
• Must be willing to relocate to city of job location if outside commuting distance.
• Must have Python and/or Scala, SQL knowledge.
• Must have no more than 2 years' professional experience.
• Must be graduating from university in the same country of internship location.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and evaluate machine learning models under guidance of senior researchers.
• Implement clean, maintainable model training and inference code following software engineering practices.
• Participate in data modeling, API design, and low‑level system design for ML features.
• Explore, analyze, and prepare data using statistics and ML techniques to improve model quality.
• Collaborate with peers and product partners to define success metrics and iterate on ML solutions.
• Learn to work with AI‑driven systems and apply AI/ML concepts to real products.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled solutions within defined guidance and scope.
