Job summary

Adecco Group UK & Ireland is seeking an Applications Engineer in Sheffield who will support new products and manufacturing processes throughout the full product lifecycle. The role requires hands-on CAM/CNC capability, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a focus on cost reduction and process improvement.

The successful candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering degree, 5+ years in similar roles, and experience with complex milled/turned parts in regulated sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• 5+ years in a similar role.
• Experience with geometrically complex milled/turned components in orthopaedic/aerospace sectors.
• Proven track record delivering engineering projects and familiarity with project tracking tools.
• Experience in heavily regulated industries with strong process adherence and change control.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and execute multiple engineering programmes while monitoring and reporting to management.
• Collaborate with internal functions and customer technical teams.
• Own manufacturing cost targets per project plan and identify solutions to meet targets when off track.
• Attend daily Operations meetings and provide input/resolutions with timely feedback.
• Provide accurate financial estimations to support pro formas and customer quotations.
• Utilise knowledge to drive best practices and implement leading-edge solutions.
