Job summary

Premier Technical Recruitment Ltd, on behalf of a market-leading global manufacturer, is seeking an Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Engineer based in Enderby, Leicester. The role sits on the front line of the Sales team, handling technical enquiries, developing costed solutions and processing orders.

You will translate customer requirements into designs, produce quotations and tenders, and work with Contracts/Engineering teams to deliver profitable orders while maintaining product

Qualifications

• Electrical/technical sales or applications engineering experience.
• Strong IT skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Qualified to HNC level or above (or QBE) in electrical/electronic/controls engineering.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer enquiries via phone, email, face-to-face and occasional on-site visits.
• Interpret customer requirements and produce costed designs and solutions.
• Prepare quotations and tenders in a timely, clear manner.
• Follow up quotations to secure profitable orders.
• Maintain expert product knowledge and provide pre-sales technical education.
• Ensure orders are processed quickly and design/manufacturing information is passed to the relevant department.
• Keep customers informed of order status and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain up-to-date records of enquiries, quotations, orders and activity.
• Pursue new business opportunities and support Contracts, Engineering and Production teams.
