Job summary

Schindler UK & Ireland in Addlestone, England, is seeking an Application Engineer to lead application engineering, coordinate resources, and drive value for Schindler Group projects. This full-time, permanent role focuses on designing lift solutions and delivering first-time-right engineering outcomes.

You will use CAD (3D), AutoCAD, SAP, and Schindler tools to produce calculations and drawings, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet quality and delivery targets.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in engineering design and technical calculations.
• Hands-on with CAD (ideally 3D) and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and Schindler's design tools: Drive, Rail, Car Weight Calculation, LBLC, LiftDesigner, CREO Parametrics/Simulate, PNC, MODB, and Lotus Notes.
• Customer-focused, results-driven, and a strong communicator.

Responsibilities

• Lead application engineering processes, ensuring full compliance with industry standards and Schindler Group guidelines.
• Coordinate resources to achieve financial, quality, and efficiency targets-delivering solutions with first pass yield and on-time delivery.
• Champion customer-centric support, keeping stakeholders informed and empowered with knowledge of our products and tools.
• Design and engineer both custom and pre-engineered lift solutions, from initial concept through to delivery.
• Produce detailed process calculations, design specifications, and layout drawings to the highest standards.
• Perform final configuration, generate bills of materials, and prevent costly gaps in the process.
