Job summary

Collinson is seeking a visionary Principal Engineer to shape the next generation of our API platform. You will lead the architectural vision for API ecosystem and drive the design of scalable, cloud-native distributed services at scale.

You will mentor engineers across multiple squads, collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership, and champion modern practices such as TDD, CI/CD, and IaC while exploring AI-powered engineering capabilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience architecting large-scale distributed systems in the cloud.
• Deep expertise in APIs, event-driven architectures, and containerised applications.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience leading engineering teams across multiple squads.
• A mentoring mindset and collaborative leadership style.
• Curiosity around AI and emerging engineering technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural vision for API ecosystem and platform.
• Lead design and development of scalable, cloud-native distributed systems.
• Mentor and coach engineers and technical leaders across squads.
• Collaborate with Product, Delivery, and Engineering leadership on strategic decisions.
• Champion modern development practices including TDD, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing.
• Explore and embed AI-powered engineering capabilities into workflows and platform.
