Job summary

LSIndex in Coventry is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Animal Welfare Technician to support the Biomedical Services Unit. You will help maintain welfare and husbandry of laboratory animals in line with ASPA 1986 and keep accurate records.

Working with breeding colonies and ensuring clean, compliant facilities, you will join a friendly team that values attention to detail and initiative. Previous experience in scientific animal environments is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of animal welfare standards and ASPA 1986 requirements.
• Experience in a scientific animal environment is advantageous.
• Strong teamwork with initiative for independent work.
• Excellent attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our clients Biomedical Services Unit, where you’ll be part of our exceptional Research Technology Platforms.

You’ll be responsible for supporting the welfare and husbandry of laboratory animals in accordance with the Animal Scientific Procedures Act (ASPA) 1986. You’ll have the opportunity to work with breeding colonies and ensure that our animal facilities are kept spotless and meet rigorous health and environmental standards.

What we’re looking for:

• A strong commitment to animal welfare and knowledge of the Animal Scientific Procedures Act
• Previous experience in an Scientific Animal environment
• Great teamwork skills but also the initiative to work independently
• Excellent attention to detail and a knack for record-keeping
