Qualifications

What is the Job?

You will assist the reservations manager to ensure the smooth and efficient operations in the department through prompt, effective and proper reservations service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction and room revenue in order to meet or exceed the revenue target. You will assist in managing the day-to-day operation of the Reservations team.

About the role

Your Day to Day

  • Assist with the day to day running of the department
  • Assist with rotas/payroll/recruitment/holidays/absence/return to work
  • Ensure Groups Strategy is correctly managed on a day-to-day basis
  • Respond to and independently quote group enquiries in a timely manner
  • Oversee daily management of groups including allocations, series, release and cancellation policies
  • Ensure effective communication between reservations and other departments
  • Ensure billing and invoices are correctly managed and queries resolved
  • Assist with overseeing all booking systems, Extranets, PMS, Central Systems to ensure full availability and maximum exposure
  • Gather relevant information and reports
  • Create & maintain relationships with our Leisure / Wholesale / Group partners & Tour Operators
  • Assist with the preparation of contracts for the group
  • Be fully cross trained to have the correct knowledge and skills to be able to sell and manage each of the properties facilities and systems
  • Assist with onboarding, training plan & appraisals
  • Partake in any external meetings/show-rounds when required

Accountability

Assist with Management of the Reservation Department

Hours of work typically Monday to Friday, but may include occasional evening and weekend shifts

What you will need

Required criteria

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a hotel’s reservations role
  • Proficiency in reservations management systems
  • Supervisory experience
  • 5 GCSE’S including Maths and English grade C or above or equivalent qualification
