Job summary

Domestic & General is seeking an Underwriting Analyst for a permanent hybrid role, based from Wimbledon or Nottingham offices, to support pricing and risk decisions that keep our warranty products commercially sustainable and fair for customers. You will analyse performance trends, monitor profitability and growth, and contribute to forecasting and recommendations.

Qualifications

• A degree in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or related discipline.
• Strong interest in data analysis, commercial decision-making, insurance, pricing or risk.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Confidence using Excel and an interest in developing skills in SQL, Power BI and Python.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proactive mindset with a desire to learn and broaden commercial understanding.

Responsibilities

• Analyse performance trends, monitor profitability, growth, retention and customer value.
• Analyse claims, customer and product data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Support forecasting activities and assess future performance scenarios.
• Contribute to recommendations relating to pricing, underwriting, promotions and retention.
• Produce clear analysis, reports and commentary for stakeholders across the business.
• Build relationships across Commercial, Pricing, Product, Operations, Finance and Data teams.
