As we continue to expand, we're looking for an Underwriting Analyst to join our team and play a key role in supporting the pricing and risk decisions that keep our products commercially sustainable, drive business growth, and ensure we continue to deliver fair value for our customers. This position will be focused on our UK business. Working closely with teams across Pricing, Product, Commercial, Finance, Operations and Data, you'll analyse performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and help develop recommendations that support both business objectives and customer outcomes.
As an Underwriting Analyst, you'll use data, insight and problem-solving skills to support decisions that influence product performance, profitability and growth across our warranty portfolio. Monitoring account and portfolio performance across profitability, growth, retention and customer value metrics. Analysing claims, customer and product data to identify trends, risks and opportunities. Supporting forecasting activities and helping to assess future performance scenarios. Contributing to recommendations relating to pricing, underwriting, promotions and retention activity. Producing clear analysis, reports and commentary for stakeholders across the business. Building strong relationships with colleagues across Commercial, Pricing, Product, Operations, Finance and Data teams. Supporting the development of reporting, dashboards and analytical processes. Learning how underwriting decisions are made and how they contribute to wider business performance and customer outcomes.
We're looking for a naturally curious and analytical individual who enjoys working with data, solving problems and uncovering insights that drive better business decisions. You don't necessarily need previous underwriting experience. We're interested in people with strong numerical skills, commercial curiosity and a willingness to learn in a supportive and collaborative environment. Ideally your profile will include the following: A degree in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related discipline. A strong interest in data analysis, commercial decision-making, insurance, pricing or risk. Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions. Confidence using Excel and an interest in developing skills in tools such as SQL, Power BI and Python. Good communication skills and the ability to explain analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. A proactive and inquisitive mindset with a desire to learn new skills and broaden your commercial understanding. Strong problem-solving abilities and the confidence to ask questions and challenge thinking constructively.
