Job summary

Entrust People Limited in Edinburgh is seeking an Analytical Biochemist to provide analytical support across protein and biotech projects. You will perform hands-on analyses using LC-MS, HPLC and GC-MS on diverse sample matrices and develop robust workflows.

The role involves maintaining instrumentation, developing biochemical assays (Western Blot, SDS-PAGE, enzyme assays) and ensuring data validity through QC analyses.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with industrial experience.
• Experience developing robust methods using LC-MS/HPLC/GC-MS.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on analyses using LC-MS, HPLC and GC-MS on protein and biotech samples.
• Develop and validate analytical workflows.
• Maintain and calibrate chromatography and MS instrumentation.
• Develop and optimise biochemical assays including Western Blot and SDS-PAGE; run enzymatic assays.
• Ensure data validity through QC data assessments.

Analytical Biochemist
Location : Edinburgh
Our Edinburgh based client is actively looking for anAnalytical Biochemistto provide analytical support on a range of ongoing protein and biotechnology based projects.
Duties for this position will include :

• Performing hands on analyses with LC-MS, HPLC and GC-MS , working with a variety of protein and biological sample matrices
• Developing and validating analytical workflows
• Maintaining / calibrating instrumentation , including chromatography and MS systems
• Developing, optimising biochemical assays using Western Blot, SDS-PAGE and enzymatic assays
• Ensuring the validity of all data generated from detailed QC data assessments

Applications are invited from candidates with a BSc / MSc / PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry with proven demonstrable industrial skills of developing robust methods of analysis using LC-MS, HPLC, GC-MS. Experience with molecular biology techniques would be advantageous.
