Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks an ODP to provide anaesthetic care across 14 theatres and four procedural areas. The role involves pre-anaesthesia checks, working with anaesthetists, and responding to emergencies in a 24/7 service.

Newly qualified practitioners and Band 5s are welcome; registration with HCPC or NMC is required and theatre experience is valued. HCAs and mentorship may be available.

Qualifications

• ODP degree or recognised anaesthetic course (completed or about to complete).
• Current HCPC or NMC registration referenced in the posting.
• Experience in theatre settings and reflective practice mentioned.

Responsibilities

• Deliver anaesthetic care across 14 theatres and four procedural areas, including pre-anaesthesia and WHO checks.
• Work alongside anaesthetists and escalate concerns promptly.
• Respond to 2222 calls and manage anaesthetic emergencies.
• Rotate through surgical specialities and work varied shifts including nights and weekends.
• Maintain competence in equipment and IV cannulation; ensure patient safety and documentation.
