Job summary

ESNEFT is seeking an Anaesthetic Practitioner to join the Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre at Colchester Hospital. You will be part of a friendly theatre team, requiring motivation, confidence and flexibility with OR experience.

Registration with NMC (RN1) or HCPC is essential and commitment to developing orthopaedic skills is expected. The Dame Clare Marx Building houses our elective orthopaedic centre with eight laminar flow theatres and recovery facilities.

Qualifications

• RGN/Dip. HE, NVQ III in Operating Department Practice or equivalent.
• BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice.
• Current professional registration.
• Experience in operating theatre environment.
• Experience in anaesthetics and scrub role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the anaesthetic room and operating theatre for sessions.
• Safe custody and preparation of drugs and infusions.
• Prepare airway management equipment.
• Safety checking and preparation of instruments, equipment and environment.
• Adhere to Trust/local policies and support safety initiatives.
• Rotate through all department areas to meet service needs, including trauma, on a 24-hour basis.
