Job summary

Wise in London is seeking a Data Science Lead to join the AML Risk team and help build the lead Data Science function with ML-based solutions that detect and mitigate financial crime globally. You will contribute to scalable, production-ready models and work with cross-functional partners to protect customers.

The role focuses on advanced analytics, GenAI-enabled detection, and leading a growing team to deliver impact across Wise’s licenses and international user base.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing, training, testing and evaluating performance of ML systems.
• Strong Python knowledge with familiarity in OO programming.
• Experience with statistical analysis and well-designed experiments.
• Product-minded with ability to work independently in cross-functional teams.
• Good communication skills to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• AML Risk Detection System Development across the Wise platform.
• Develop ML controls using unsupervised, semi-supervised and supervised methods; incorporate GenAI.
• Create frameworks to prove regional controls coverage.
• Develop technologies to serve Wise’s international user base.
• Design, mentor and grow a high-performing team of specialists.
