Wise in London seeks a Lead Data Scientist (IC3) to lead AML handling and prevent efforts. You will architect AI systems, automate workflows, and build evaluation pipelines to curb financial crime.

The role emphasizes production‑grade Python services, AI governance, and mentoring a mixed‑level team in a fast‑moving, international setting. You’ll work on end‑to‑end automation, robust evaluation, and prompt optimization, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to reduce risk and enable

Competenze

• Experience implementing, training, testing and evaluating ML systems.
• Strong Python knowledge with object‑oriented principles.
• Knowledge of GenAI/LLM solutions, eval harnesses and prompt engineering.
• Experience with statistical analysis, experiment design and failure mode analysis.

Mansioni

• Lead development and deployment of AI models to augment operational workflows (EDD LLMs).
• Establish labeling taxonomies, create evaluation datasets and harnesses.
• Audit prompts and run structured experiments to reduce hallucinations and drift.
• Design shadow mode deployments and post‑deployment monitoring for data/output drift.
• Own production pipelines with production‑ready Python services.
• Design human‑in‑the‑loop systems ensuring final decisions by humans.
• Analyze upstream data to deflect financial crime attempts and reduce workload.
• Set technical direction and mentor Senior and Junior Data Scientists.
