Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins LLP in Birmingham is seeking an AML & Conflicts Assistant to support client onboarding and compliance processes, ensuring AML and conflicts checks are completed accurately. You will assist with AML checks, due diligence reviews, respond to enquiries, conduct research using screening tools, and support the Risk & Compliance Team with administrative tasks.

Graduate or compliance experience preferred; strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Graduate or have prior compliance experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
• Positive, adaptable and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with AML checks and client due diligence reviews.
• Conduct client and matter research using screening tools and databases.
• Verify information submitted by fee earners and support staff.
• Respond to enquiries and provide guidance throughout the onboarding process.
• Carry out conflicts searches and identify potential issues.
• Support the wider Risk & Compliance Team with administrative tasks.
